Māori believed that reptiles were descended from Punga, who was the son of Tangaroa, god of the sea. They were seen as fearsome, so were also seen as guardians (kaitiaki) of burial grounds. They are found nowhere else in the world. Our gecko is carved into macrocarpa and inlaid with green glass. Beside her are brown rocks.Suitable for indoors or outdoors
Dimensions: W200mm H1050mm D50mm
Includes stake to set in the garden
Made from macrocarpa offcuts from a sawmill, that would otherwise have been destined for firewood, and recycled into art.
Our artwork and signs are hand finished so each piece is one of a kind. Other versions of the same design in stock may have minor variations in sizing, timber, colours etc. If your order comes through in a similar time frame to others for the same piece, we will offer you a similar one if we have one in stock, or we may be able to make a new one for you with the added benefit of small personal choice variations (to be discussed)
