Tōtara Garden Post Fern
Tōtara Garden Post Fern inlaid with green glass
Garden Posts
Description
The silver fern has been a symbol of New Zealand's national identity since the 1880s. To Māori, the elegant shape of the fronds stood for strength, stubborn resistance, and enduring power. To Pākehā (New Zealanders of non-Māori descent), the fern symbolises their sense of attachment to their homeland. This unique piece is carved into a 100 year old tōtara post and inlaid with green and brown glass.Suitable for indoors or outdoors
